National Handloom Development Corporation celebrates 39th Foundation Day New Delhi, Feb 22 (KNN) The National Handloom Development Corporation Limited commemorates its 39th Foundation Day on Tuesday, 22nd February 2022.

It was established in 1983 by the Government as a national level agency to assist the speedy development of the handloom sector with the help of 7 Regional Offices and 32 Branch offices.

NHDC coordinates all actions covering the procurement and supply of inputs at reasonable prices, augmenting the marketing efforts of state handloom agencies and initiating developmental activities for upgrading the technology in the handloom sector.

Its vision is to achieve the objectives of faster more inclusive and sustainable growth of Handloom sector adopted focused, flexible and holistic approach to meet the challenges of domestic, global expansion of overall.

The main activities are to supply all types of quality yarn, dyes & chemicals to the handloom weavers.

It also looks after the promotion and marketing of Handloom products by organising Silk Fab, Wool Fab & National Handloom Expo on PAN India basis. (KNN Bureau)
