International Cooperation Scheme for MSMEs spending fall by Rs 5 cr in FY20-21 New Delhi, Mar 24 (KNN) The spending on International Cooperation Scheme for MSMEs had fallen by Rs 5 crore in FY20-21 as the expenditure incurred that year was Rs 1.80 crore which is lower than previous year’s figure of Rs 6.90 crore.

Minister of State for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that 102 MSMEs benefitted and 15 events were supported in 2020.

In FY 2019-2020, 586 MSMEs were benefitted and 52 events were held under the scheme, while in 2018, Rs. 4.80 crore expenditure was incurred which benefitted 590 MSMEs and total 46 events were backed that year.

The Scheme facilitates Indian MSMEs for their participation in international exhibitions, trade fairs, buyer seller meet and for holding international conferences and seminars which are in the interest of MSME sectors. 

With regards to Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED) Scheme, total 23948 MSMEs have registered out of which 503 MSMEs have undergone site assessment.

174 MSMEs received no rating while 131 MSMEs qualified for bronze, 132 MSMEs for silver, 62 MSMEs for gold and 4 MSMEs for diamond.

The ZED Scheme has been renamed as “MSME Sustainable (ZED)”, and its guidelines is under approval stage. (KNN Bureau)
