IIT Roorkee to help Garuda Aerospace and AGROB to develop AI based drones Chennai, May 23 (KNN) A tripartite agreement has been signed between the AGROB, an agri-ecosystem registered under Start-Up India and MSME, Garuda Aerospace and IIT Roorkee to help in the development of drone ecosystem in India.

The three parties will jointly work to address and support the growing demand for home-grown drone pilots.

Offering their expertise as individual organisation under this pact, IIT Roorkee will be providing the application-based solution i.e., AI based monitoring, among others while AGROB and Garuda will be providing the real time implementations.

Commenting on the partnership, Prof. Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee said "This partnership will facilitate collaborative development of Make in India Drones by providing innovative solutions.”

IIT Roorkee will focus on application-based solutions like AI-based monitoring, and will be involved in providing customised solutions for drones. Students will be involved in the development of hardware and drone flying strategies, he said.

Sharing his view on the initiative, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder & CEO, Garuda Aerospace, said, "The association is a step towards realizing the companys target of manufacturing 1 lakh Make in India Drones by end of 2023. This partnership will usher a new era in imparting quality skill training in the field of Automation, AI, ML and Drones for millions of Indian Youth."

Calling the tripartite collaboration an effort to leverage IIT Roorkees research, Harsh Upadhyay, Founder and CEO, AGROB, said that this strategic partnership will create awareness among farmers for use of Drones and its benefits, generating job opportunities.
