India’s startup ecosystem is the third-largest: PM Modi New Delhi, June 27 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s statrtup ecosystem is the third-largest and is the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world.

Addressing the Indian community in Munich on Sunday he asserted that India is on the forefront of Industry 4.0.

“Whether it is in the field of information technology or digital technology,” he added.

PM Modi arrived in Germany is on a three-day visit to attend the G7 summit.

Highlighting the progress made my Indian startups, he said “Today, we are the third-largest startup ecosystem. Similarly, we used to import even the simplest phones, today, we are the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world.

The Prime Minister said that India has a unicorn every 10 days, 5000 patents are being filed every month. "We are progressing and we are growing," he said.

He will hold meetings with G7 and partner countries and will hold discussions on issues ranging from environment, energy, to counter-terrorism.

The seven working sessions of the summit will focus on topics like the global economy, partnerships for developing countries, foreign and security policy, sustainability, food security, multilateralism, and digital transformation. (KNN Bureau)
